Although fitness is not the main focus of this blog, it is an important aspect of my life. I do subscribe to the use of protein shakes (and other protein enhanced foods like pancakes and bars) to help increase my nutritional intake before and after workouts.
Food variety and flavour is equally important and I never like to compromise on either when it comes to healthy eating. This small twist turns an otherwise bland protein shake into warming post-workout drink.
Ingredients:
- 1 measure of your protein powder (vanilla or plain)
- 1 banana
- 1 piece of stem ginger (from a jar in syrup)
- semi-skimmed milk
Recipe:
- Put the protein powder, banana and ginger into a mini-blender. Top up with milk and blitz for 10 – 20 seconds.
- Drink straight away with a couple of ice cubes in the glass.
